Strawberry Chocolate Chip Cookies { From Scratch }

***********************************************************

Makes : 36 cookies

Ingredients :
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp.  baking soda
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup castor sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 tsp.  strawberry essence
  • Pink food color , as required
  • 3/4 cup chocolate chips

Method :
  • Preheat oven to 190 C.
  • Combine flour, baking soda and salt in small bowl, keep aside.
  • Beat butter and sugar in a large bowl until creamy.
  • Add egg, beat well. Beat in strawberry essence and food color.
  • Gradually beat in flour mixture until just combined. Stir in chocolate chips.
  • Drop dough by rounded teaspoons onto parchment-lined baking sheet 3 inches apart and refrigerate about 1 hour until well-chilled.
  • Bake at 190 C for 8 to 10 minutes or until edges begin to brown ( or bake at 180 C for 10 to 12 minutes ).
  • Cool on baking sheet for 2 minutes; transfer cookies to a wire-rack to cool completely.
Note :
  • The dough or cookie balls must be well chilled before baking to prevent the cookies from flattening or spreading too much.
  • Cookies baked at 190 C have a brownish color ( 1st picture ), while baked at 180 C have a pink color ( 2nd picture ).
